Nicholas Hansinger

Trumpet

Trumpeter Nicholas Hansinger, a Detroit native, has been active throughout the Metro Detroit area both as a freelance performer and a chamber musician. He has performed with numerous orchestras including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Windsor Symphony. His solo performances include a performance of F.J. Haydn's Trumpet Concerto with the Southfield Symphony in December 2004. As a chamber musician, Nick has performed with the Michigan Chamber Brass and the Detroit Symphony Brass Quintet. He is a founding member of the Metropolitan Brass Ensemble, a versatile group that has performed regularly since 1995 for numerous occasions including weddings and special events.

Hansinger received his Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Wayne State University, where he studied primarily with William Lucas, 4th trumpet with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. His other teachers include Ramón Parcells, principal trumpet for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and Gordon Stump, lead trumpet for the Fox and Fisher Theaters.

Nick is also the Assistant Orchestra Personnel Manager for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; a position he has held for over 7 years. In his spare time, Nick enjoys a disciplined Yoga practice.
