Mitchell WechslerTrumpet
Mitchell Wechsler, a native of New York City, is a busy Detroit freelance trumpet player with refined classical training. In addition to a strong symphonic background, Mitch is prolific in performing other styles such as Broadway ("Little Shop of Horrors", "Thoroughly Modern Millie"), big band, chamber music (Hartwick Brass Quintet, Little German Band), and salsa-merengue. Having received trumpet performance degrees from the Hartt School of Music (B.Mus.) and Rice University (M.Mus.), Mitch has studied with such important trumpet pedagogues as Fred Mills, Armando Ghitalla and Chris Gekker. Mitch has performed and toured USA, South America and Europe with Verbier Festival Orchestra led by James Levine, has recently worked with Grant Park Symphony, Toledo Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony and Windsor Symphony, and held the second trumpet position in Charleston Symphony. Mitch is a new member of AFM local 5 having just moved to Detroit, MI. |
